Sihanoukville Police Raids Net Over 1 Ton of Drugs & Production Materials
Massive Drug Haul in Sihanoukville
Cambodia News, (Preah Sihanouk Province):In an anti-drug operation lasting over a week, Sihanoukville and national police raided and detained suspected drug traffickers and manufacturers. The scale of the drug production operating in the coastal city is said to be considerable, and police have arrested 10 people up until now.
From 11 to 19 December 2022, Preah Sihanouk Provincial Gendarmerie cracked down on a large-scale drug trafficking case in Preah Sihanouk Province, detaining 10 male and female suspects in police raids across the city.
Two Cambodians and eight Chinese nationals were taken into custody, and the authorities have seized a total of more than a ton of drugs, 500 grams of chemical compounds, more than 35 kilograms of other chemicals, and 448 grams of related substances.
The 10 suspects and exhibits seized by the Provincial Gendarmerie Command will be sent to court at noon today, on December 21, 2022.
On behalf of Preah Sihanouk Provincial Administrative Unity Command, HE Kouch Chamroeun, the Governor, commended and encouraged the relevant authorities as well as the judiciary for their efforts to fight drug crimes and apprehend international and national criminals working in Sihanoukville.

Cambodian News, (Sihanoukville): In 10 days of a large-scale drug crackdown operation at the end of 2022 in Sihanoukville, the Armed Forces have completed the operation with the arrest of a total of 10 criminals (6 Chinese, 1 Taiwanese, and 3 Cambodians). Drugs and chemicals weighing more than 1 ton were seized and sent to Sihanoukville Provincial Court on December 21, 2022.
Brigadier General Heng Bunty said that the first day of operations took place on the afternoon of December 11, 2022, with a raid on a rental warehouse in Group 9, Village 2, Sangkat 1, Sihanoukville, and the police search continued until December 21, 2022. The entire operation was overseen by Samdech Krala Hom Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and chaired by General Meas Virith, Secretary General of the General Secretariat of the National Authority for Combating Drugs.
According to the Brigadier General, special forces arrested 10 criminals during the operation, including 6 Chinese, 1 Taiwanese national, and 3 Cambodians:
1 Name: ZHOU JING BIN, 43 years old, unspecified occupation, staying at Hanhai Hotel, located in Village 1, Sangkat 3, Sihanoukville
2 Name:CAI JIAN FONG, 29 years old, residence is not true.
3. Name: YE LICHI, 33 years old, living in Poipet City.
4. Name: WANG JIAN, 36 years old, farmer, living in a condominium building in Village 2, Sangkat 2, Preah Sihanouk
5: Name: Prem Reach, 31 years old, Cambodian, Occupation: Taxi driver, Residence is not real.
6. Name: Chan Ratana, 30 years old, Cambodian, living in Bavet City.
7. Name: LI PENG FEI, 24 years old, Passport No. EE26558 74, Residence in Bavet City.
8. Name: LIU YANG, 30 years old, unreliable occupation, living in a condominium building in Village 5, Sangkat 4, Preah Sihanouk
9. Name: ZHAO BING FEI, 29 years old, unreliable occupation, living in a condominium building in Village 5, Sangkat 4, Preah Sihanouk
10: Por Panha, alias Chao, 31 years old, Cambodian, resides in front of the old LV Club, located in Village 4, Sangkat 4, Preah Sihanouk Province.
The confiscated items include:
- ketamine
- MDMA total weight 2 kg 597.8 g
Total chemical weight 10 kg 358 g.
-Chemical compound weighs 500 grams.
- Various forms of different methamphetamine pills
- Also vehicles: Two motorcycles, a white FORD car with license plate number 2BF-7484, white TUNDRA with license plate Phnom Penh 2BJ-8429, gold TUNDRA with license plate Phnom Penh 2BR-8706, black TUNDRA with license plate Phnom Penh 2AQ-1313, TUNDRA White with license plate Phnom Penh 2BP-7818, white LEXUS RX300 with license plate Kampong Thom 2A-4216, white LEXUS CT200H with license plate Phnom Penh 2BL-1872 and golden HIGHLANDER with license plate Phnom Penh 2AK-9067.
