LOL. Too far to walk, take the moto.
And AFAIK there's no construction along that bit of beach, except one or two shacks which are quite recent, so not much eviction necessary.
This has turned into quite a saga, but a lot more words than action for the moment. Be interesting to see what happens in the end - maybe not much ?
Exactly! Too far and too hot for many to walk from Serendipity, only a few tourists cycling, (hope that side of things gets better though). I've never seen a local walk more than 50m in SHV but don't worry it will be wide enough to park at least 2 lexus's on side by side.

What plans do you need to make an 8m path,50m from the sea? Bleeding tape measure and a few twigs and you are on your way.

Beachfront Evictions Begin In Sihanoukville

by Peter Ford and Ouch Sony | April 11, 2016

Authorities in Sihanoukville followed through with their long-threatened eviction of vendors from the end of the popular O’Chheuteal beach on Saturday afternoon, demolishing nearly 100 structures along the 2 km strip known locally as Ariston.

Officials said buildings on nearby O’Tres beach would be next, but did not say exactly when the demolition might begin.

Between 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., a total of 96 structures, from simple tents to a brick-walled restaurant, were demolished after the owners had repeatedly ignored orders to leave, deputy Preah Sihanouk provincial governor Chhin Seng Nguon said on Sunday.

That's quite a good one.

So all that will remain of Ocheatuel is the concrete path cutting through the beach. In my opinion that should have been the first thing to go.

The reason seems to be ;They have money, they don't want to walk on the sand. Fuck everyone else. NIce.
