the other is that under Cambodian law, is that if in the west a person supplied drugs to 10 people, that is one charge (of supplying to 10 people). In Cambodia, that is 10 charges carrying 5 years each accumulative = 50 years

That's an intriguing haul: Two large bags of plant stalks, a large bag of rolling papers, 25 marijuana cigarettes, a rasta grinder, nine bottles of homemade stalk juice and two telephones.

Re: Siem Reap: Massive Arrest at the Soul Train (Reggae Bar)
Yeah, it's all kind of crappy. Do people seriously put stalks in that wine? There's barely anything active in a stalk or leaf. It doesn't matter really because as far as the law goes here it's all drugs, even if it's shit drugs. In other countries it might be a bit different. A South American chick I knew way back was up in Crown Court for a kilo or so of hashish that was found in her house. I knew she had this for a while and it was completely un-sellable old shit that she just didn't know what to do with. So I went down to see the trial to give her some support. For anyone who doesn't know, this court is also known as the Old Bailey and is full of weird looking guys with wigs etc. She actually had dreads but she wore a suit and managed to hide them in a ponytail down the back and looked quite smart. So eventually this seemingly old prig judge comes to this matter. In his incredibly posh voice says : "So, you contend that this hashish was of low quality and you planned to bake a cake with it?" I found it really hard not to burst out laughing.
Anyway, she got off!
Anyway, she got off!

I notice that the Khmer440 thread on this arrest has 1/25th the traffic (views) as this thread.General Mackevili wrote: ↑Thu Apr 12, 2018 11:56 am
LoL, they paraphrased you very nicely.
But for real, everyone, it's truly great to see that not only are our newsworthy stories and discussions of interest to CEO and the rest of the expat community in Cambodia, but also of interest to the whole world. BBC called us a few months back (about the pornographic dancing backpackers in Siem Reap), and I had to explain your username to them, pointing out it was a play on words, Apocalypse Now, and Prahoc, the fermented fish stuff, LoL.

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

I notice the newspaper didn’t provide a source either for this expat based forum. Poor journalism on their part....Cam Nivag wrote:I notice that the Khmer440 thread on this arrest has 1/25th the traffic (views) as this thread.General Mackevili wrote: ↑Thu Apr 12, 2018 11:56 am

As adamant as Miglet has been about NOT wanting The Old Forum to be quoted in the media, his few remaining members should be thankful they still get up to 1/25th as much activity as they do from time to time, as he seems hellbent on making sure that his forum is as dead and forgotten as it can get as quickly as possible.
No loss to the community there, in my HUMBLEST opinion.
Edit: I think one of their long-time posters of over 7 years put it best a mere 5 minutes ago about how dire it's gotten over there:
But again, any webmaster who is proud to boast that they don't want to be mentioned in the media and ridicules their competition for heavily promoting their members' contributions on social media is living in the year 2001 or something.
Admin has been trying to make a strong "push" as of late, but I don't belive it's enough to save them:
"Life is too important to take seriously."
"Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh."
