This is where the concept of face puzzles me. Surely, deep down he knows that in the eyes of others he is only losing more face, as critics continue to blast him for his "apology". I understand though, for many - particularly the powerful - face means never being wrong about anything, ever. But there is a contradiction there. Why put import on that kind of face when you know you are building a wall of lies around yourself? It seems to me that Meas Rithy and the like (Viriya MC? no comment) equate face solely with money and power, and not with the true, honourable Khmer practice of face at all.

Sorry, I don't think I made myself clear. I meant everybody knows about Ireland and their backward laws, but nobody seems to be able to do anything about it in an EU member and in 2017. Something to do with religion. No, not that one, a Christian one.

It's illegal in Northern Ireland too, which is part of the UK. All well off-topic anyway.

Poipet Deputy Military Police Chief Sar Sopheaktra said suspect Chrun Reth, 36, had been arrested on Thursday for the alleged repeated rape of a 10-year-old relative in Banteay Meanchey. “The child claimed that the suspect had raped her since she was 6 years old, but the man denied it, and said that he raped her when she was 8 years old,” Sopheaktra said...
