40 Shops Destroyed in Phnom Penh Market Fire
Cambodia Breaking News (Phnom Penh): On September 10, 2019, at 11:20 pm, a fire broke out at Kleang Rumsev market in front of Mongdiyal center, Mao Zedong road, Sangkat Psar Derm Kor, Phnom Penh.
According to a market security man, the fire was caused by an electrical explosion. As the fire spread, there was panic as the market vendors tried to remove their wares and belongings from the shops. But, even so, some people found the time to take photos and videos.
The police, authorities, and local people helped to put out the fire, which raged until 1am on September 11. Police had to use 36 firetrucks to put out the fire and 40 shops were burned down.

Re: 40 Shops Destroyed in Phnom Penh Market Fire
Thank you for posting this in the news.
This is where I bought 2 phones the last time I was in town.
With all the electrical and phone batteries, I bet this fire was VERY hard to fight. With TOXIC smoke to boot.

There was a major dispute between the vendors and landlord over increasing rents there a few years ago.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
