Shooting in Phnom Penh near Phsar PC

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Scary.
Sure looks like it at first glance.

So, why?

Working at the embassy one would assume there would be stringent character tests performed. I doubt then (my opinion) that this guy was up to no good.

Perhaps it was his reluctance to corruption.

Or maybe he was into something he shouldn't have been.

I'm putting a side bet on Digg3r's cards, that sounds reasonable to me.

People here get easily offended and you can get killed for something trivial, ie stepping on some idiot's foot by mistake at a wedding.

They will wait for years sometimes to repay a perceived slight that the victim may not even be aware of.

Very little comedy when it is close to home, and it always is for the family.

SC, Kris' quip was cross forum- a little obscure but also a cogent comment.

Well said Kris.

I can't bear all the speculation and 2nd guessing at tragedy, especially all the negative assumptions that fly from anonymous posters.

It is like they are all some Kojac wannabees.

No comfort for the families of victims to see the object of tragedy made into a figure of fun for the idle amusement of contemptible intellects.

sorry- it is a particularly sore point with me - and something i detest when i see it honed to an art elsewhere.
my comments not aimed at anyone's postings here.

The restraint here on the subject of death and tragedy is both admirable and honorable.
It reflects the character of the posters here.
