Shooting in Phnom Penh near Phsar PC

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

We were just chatting two nights ago about music in the 70s...

@nb try and intimidate someone else. You're the guy talking about what people buy at pharmacies...and your karma rating shows who's more in need of attitude adjustment.

What, in your view, constitutes 'talking shit to people'? Examples, please.

I think your comment warrants investigation.

Gotcha, I wasn't sure the situation.

So presumably, they have dozens of witnesses, at least?

That's right around the time schools let out, so I imagine a crowd around.

Certainly not a random shooting.

About 20 policemen showed up with his car, asked everyone a few questions.

Update: one shot hit him in the shoulder and then into his neck.

2 other shots into his neck.

4 Australians, presumably from embassy went to Calmette, he will be moved to Singapore.

Tinted windows may have saved his life, either by preventing shooters seeing him clearly, or if it was film, holding the glass together.

Yes, 5 shots through a car window weren't meant for a robbery. They shot to make sure they hit.
Hope he's going to survive this ordeal and thank goodness there was no ricochet and collateral victims.
