Shocking Accident: 9yo Kid Killed while Working as a Brickmaker.

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

It actually sticks in my craw every time I see this response to bad things happening. "What are the NGOs (charities, churches, ...) doing?"

What are YOU doing about child labour in Cambodia?

You're an intelligent human being, Rozzie, and my response was directly for peppermintpaddy. I've never seen YOU keyboard-warrioring about what others should do in response to injustice. I imagine you're the sort of person that would find something to do before slagging off at other unknown people.

If you're not in a position to directly do anything about child labour, but willing to enable change and in a position to financially do so, support the NGOs that DO address injustice. Typically, these are not agencies that do child sponsorship, Christmas shoeboxes etc. (Hidden barbed message for those not as literate as Rozzie - many NGOs working in developing countries are poverty-industry money makers, don't support them.)

Disclosure - our social enterprise partners with Licadho.

Never knew that western nations specifically target killing kids in Yemen, Iraq, and Syria. So the West isn’t interested in killing terrorists, just kids exclusively? Know these kiddie death squads personally, so you?

Do they plan there mass child extermination’s before or after recess?
