Shianoukville Small Market Accident

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Shianoukville Small Market Accident

Post by Sailorman »

Anyone heard about a major accident that happened in front of the small market in Sihanoukville? A couple people killed and many injured from what I heard when a car plowed into the crowd in front of the market.

GF told me her English teacher said 4 dead. IME, these stories get exaggerated through the jungle grapevine.

Hearing about a horrible sounding accident just happened, starting at the small market - out of control Lexus - ending at the car wash over the junction on Ekareach... 2 dead & many injured - some critical. Just awful.

Jacqui Pritchard I came past there soon after it happened, the crowd was that big the police couldn't control the traffic. I had no idea it was that bad.

1 girl dead
6 injured

As yesterday 3:30pm time of accident.
According to officials in charge.

From the pictures I have seen, 3 cars involved and ended their journey in a garage warehouse.
A rear ended RX 300 shows that the crash must have been brutal.

Sounds awful, did it happen across the road from the side entrance to Charlie Harper's and continued through the junction across to the garage opposite Charlie Harper's ?
Yes sir, I can boogie, I can boogie, boogie, boogie all night long.
