Seng Polvithavy, Cambodian Representative at Miss Grand International

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Well Small Change, your posts strike me as ones written by a conservative young Cambodian lady, one who would find blue jeans and a long-sleeved blouse as more appropriate beaches attire.

No Cambodian would wear a bikini and she's too tall.

Good luck though to him.

No Khmer would wear a bikini? I don't know. Times change and huge part of feeling accepted is feeling sexually desired. I think hormones and ego will overcome sexually repressive cultural values.

I just responed to your question that if I were a model, i would feel confident to wear it. Btw what's wrong if Cambodians wear bikini? I'm not cultural woman and not a presentative for Cambodians women. I couldn't swim because I was very shy and couldn't wear any swim suit. I don't agree that it is sexual desired. I always follow this theory to keep my fitness, wearing swim suit can keep me to have a nice shape. I'm sure that wearing bikini doesn't attract men, but bastards!

Ok. Not many Khmer's would wear a bikini in public, aside from the working girls and even then they'd not be as blase like barang women are.

It's got nothing to do with sex or how beautiful you feel. They're just functional items of clothing.

It's only men that see them as sexual items of clothing.

Not really all that cool but I'm happy she has you for a big brother who wouldn't look at a shapely Khmer girl in a bikini. That response with just a touch of anger added proves to me that she is indeed a traditional lady. Sampots to the ankles and sidesaddle forever then. Think I'll go to the beach and be a bastard. See you there Samouth.

Dear Sinn Sisamouth, first you.say NO Khmer giri would wear a bikini then you say "not many.". Make up your mind. Then you say "only men" who find them sexy. There might be some lesbians who would disagree with you.

I clarified my post that's all.

I don't give a fuck what lesbians think as I'm not one and they're not interested in men!

Are you a lezzer?
