C’mon New Kid...having picatinny rails, grip tape (could just be standard electrical tape) and a retention strap (looks like a shoelace!) doesn’t make it a “higher end gun (military or police)”...and how can you tell the barrel is threaded for a suppressor (no such thing as a silencer)? (Note: I’m viewing the pic from a phone, quite grainy when I enlarge it)

No way of telling whether the pistol is genuine or an air-soft replica from the photos..normally when cops take pics of weapons here they remove the mag and ammo, which they haven’t this time.

Russian man detained for wearing military uniform

Police in Kep province arrested a Russian national for using and wearing Cambodian military garb in Kep commune on Wednesday, according to local police.

Commune deputy police chief Chim Sothea said the Russian, identified as Viasov Ilya, 37, was arrested at his rental room on Wednesday while he was wearing a Cambodian military uniform.

“We cooperated with the town police and officers from the provincial police’s immigration bureau to arrest him because he was found illegally wearing the military uniform,” he said.

Mr Sothea said he did not get fully involved in the operation because there was a language barrier, so the Russian was sent to district police for further investigation.

Thou Vanthol, deputy district police chief in charge of immigration, said the Russian said he was a veteran military officer who had a leg injury from military service and uses marijuana to ease the pain.

“We are questioning him at the office. We don’t know what his purpose is yet for wearing the Cambodian uniform because the investigation is ongoing,” he said.

Police also seized handcuffs and a walkie-talkie, according to Mr Vanthol.

“He only told us that he used to serve in the military,” he added.
