Russian man tried to pass 5kg marijuana into Thailand at Koh Kong border.

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

9 December 2016. A Russian national allegedly paid Hout Sokhkuen, a 54year old Khmer woman, to bring a bag in her cart across the border from Cambodia into Thailand at the Cham Yeam international border crossing in Koh Kong province. The woman was searched at the Thai checkpoint and about 5kg marijuana was found in the bag. The Russian man, who was waiting to reception the bag, escaped back to Thailand without being caught by police or border guards.

This tale, as told, makes no sense.

The attempted smuggling was from Cambodia into Thailand yet the wicked Russki escaped into Thailand?

Clarification will probably be forthcoming later

Seems like smuggling coal to New Castle. Is there now a shortage of said product in Thailand?

The way I read it, Boris was waiting on the Thai side for Srey to cross and did a runner when he saw her getting busted.

Yep. Gave her the goods on the Cambodian side. Saw her getting searched and took a minivan off. I wonder what will happen to the lady...

He must have paid for every seat in the minivan then. They don't move until they are full!

Shouldn't be difficult to find out who he is. Identify him via CCTV, match with passport registries and voila, you've got his name. Once you've got the name it's pretty easy to nab him.

let s hope so. They work pretty hard for a living and this is the last thing she would want to have to deal with.

Not necessarily. That may be info they obtained from interrogating the mule. Said info might be wrong.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.
