"I know Bay very well and I know that heroin, junk, heroin and amphetamines are not his drug of choice - alcohol is his drug of choice," Dunkley said.

"I was loudly arguing with him not to put it into his arm - that they couldn't find where to put it into his arm - they were f----- it up.

"They were jabbing it into him two or three times before they got it right and I was pretty unhappy about that.

"I was unhappy about the needles they were using, they were old, the spoons, everything they were using was just bad, mate.

"I'm not a druggie, I'm not an intravenous drug user but I knew what was going on. Bay, in his usual invincible manner, said 'Oh, f---- it'."

_The West Weekend _has been told that on the day Rigby died there were at least two other men in his studio.

Dunkley said he was willing to cooperate with any police investigation into his friend's sudden death.

So much has changed in 7 years. Ross Dunkley would be turning in his grave, I mean, cell.

"Dunkley has sailed with Rupert Murdoch, smoked cigars with Robert DeNiro, watched Francis Ford Copp-ola speak on the telephone in Hanoi, joked with Vaclav Havel and received encouragement from United Nations secretary-general Ban Ki-Moon on an aircraft out of Myanmar.

Here in Phnom Penh, he is on the verge of pushing  The Phnom Penh Post into profit-ability following more than four years of losses.

“What people don’t acknowledge enough is that Cambodia has the freest media market in Asia,’’ Dunkley says."

And this is not the first time Ross Dunkley has been arrested in Myanmar for drugs:

"Ross Dunkley, the founder of Rangoon's Myanmar Times and a key stakeholder in the Phnom Penh Post, was arrested after he returned home to Rangoon from Thailand on Friday.
Authorities in Rangoon say he was arrested for overstaying his visa and marijuana possession.

He is being held in the Insein prison in Rangoon."

In February 2011, Dunkley was arrested and in June convicted of assault and immigration offences. He was sentenced to one month jail and freed because of 47 days already served pre-bail.

Dunkley says, “Once inside I only held thoughts that I would soon be out. I should have been extremely concerned and thinking I could be jailed for 10 years or more easily with charges of administering drugs, kidnapping and bashing a woman plus immigration offences.

“But as I hadn’t done any of the above I slept soundly.”

Dammit, you're a few steps ahead of me. He's been referred to as the Hunter S Thompson of journalism in South East Asia, and sounds like he's got quite a colorful past.

Here are the recent arrest pictures, which show him with several women and also his buddy or possible business partner, John Mckenzie.
