Ricketson's Son Loses His Laptop
I hope there is nothing incriminating on it. Otherwise he could be following in his father's footsteps.

Hey all.
My laptop was left in a tuk tuk 2 nights ago. It contains a lot of data in it that is valuable to me but useless to anyone else; including work data, photos and countless other irreplaceable bits and pieces. I would dearly love to get it back.
I am offering a $500 reward to anyone who brings it back and $100 to anyone with any info on it.
It was taken in a tuk tuk from St 155 in front of the Japanese Guitar Shop up to St 420 in Beoung Trabek at 10pm Tues 18th December. The tuk tuk was hailed from the street driving north up 155.
The model is ASUS ZenBook UX510UX. It was in a 'Grid' brand black laptop bag with sturdy rubber corners.
Please if people could pass this message around and, if possible, pass this message on to your tuk tuk drivers and see if they can ask their networks. That would be amazing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Belated note to Jesse Ricketson and a bit of advice to everyone else.
Buy a large capacity thumb drive and back up your important data etc. prior to logging off and then put the thumb drive somewhere secure like with your family jewels.

What's up with this "left in a tuk-tuk" thing? There's not much that can be done for people who forget important equipment and leave it in informal transport. However I hope he gets it back, there's probably a much larger chance of it than if he was that dumb in Sydney or wherever he's from.

Even better would be to encrypt it and sync your data in the "cloud".AB101 wrote:Belated note to Jesse Ricketson and a bit of advice to everyone else.

I once lost my MS surface this way. But luckily all the data was secure =)

My important files are encrypted. But no I don't trust Google drive or Dropbox with sensitive information, hence the encryption =)AB101 wrote:You trust the cloud?Equinix wrote: ↑Fri Dec 21, 2018 1:51 amEven better would be to encrypt it and sync your data in the "cloud".AB101 wrote:Belated note to Jesse Ricketson and a bit of advice to everyone else.

Re: Ricketson's Son Loses His Laptop
Ricketson jr. is now saying that the tuk tuk driver "has taken" his computer. He posted a video of the tuk tuk driver and is offering a $1,000 reward for the return of the laptop.
Hey all.
Again for the Cambodian crew...
New Video and photos of the tuk tuk driver who has taken my computer. Please show around to other tuk tuk drivers. Someone must know him.
Reward is raised to $1000 for return of computer with data intact. Thanks everyone.
I don't want any punishment of any sort, just for him to know that if he brings the computer back i will give him money for it.
I know it's probably too late now but hey, gotta give it a try

Consider it as a ADVERTISEMENT reward for return, and move on.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.
