Recent Study of 24 Asian Countries: Traffic Accidents are the Leading Cause of Death for People Under 30

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

The only thing that shocked me reading this is that there are 24 countries in Asia.

They left out plenty, there are something like 42 countries in Asia.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

(go to page 24) In 2010 it was only 3rd for death in SE Asia, with Tuberculosis 1st and stroke as 2nd.

Interesting to see "interpersonal violence" at 9th.

Interesting to note how prevalent smoking is in SE Asia (hence the stroke and other illnesses).

All this Songkran annual reporting pisses me off, it's only 3 times the daily national average. When the whole country migrates in a completely pissed state I think 420 is not a bad result. When you look at the stats, if you are above the age of 35 in a sober condition driving a car from 9am to 3pm on a bendy road in anywhere other than Bangkok or Chiang Mai there is a pretty good chance you'll make it. So you're the guy that should be driving all the booze to the party.

At last the true reason for the new traffic laws. I would also suppose the tax on fags was another brilliant WHO idea.

Why doesn't the Gov let us know where these decrees are coming from? I reckon they want everyone to think they're progressive and not under the thumb. I'm sure they must have got a little something for introducing them ;)

Btw the way, they mention the yoth, which everyone knows are liable to get carried away and think they are invincible, but they forgot to mention certain 40-60 yo women. You must have seen them in Asia and elsewhere, I know I have. They ride around like they have a solid gold dildo firmly embedded up their ass with the attitude that everyone on the road should give way and let them do whatever crazy shit they want because they are special

Don't believe me? Next time you see one pulling stupid shit on the road that almost kills you, give them a smile and look what reaction you get. I noticed it's worse in Vietnam though.
