Several Khmer people from Sv have told me that this is an intentional tactic to drive property prices down in the short term.

I have been wondering if he is a citizen of another country. He might come here and make the film, then go back home.frank lee bent wrote: ↑Mon Dec 10, 2018 7:55 am I am surprised the activist has not suffered terninal lead poisoning
He will get a lot of people agreeing with him. It could be interpreted that hes criticizing the Chinese.

Seems to me if it is interpreted to be criticism of rampant chinese development without appropriate controls..then that is no bad thing

Intentional tactic by whom? The chinese developers or khmer planning officials? And what do they hope to gain by doing so?frank lee bent wrote: ↑Mon Dec 10, 2018 9:43 am Several Khmer people from Sv have told me that this is an intentional tactic to drive property prices down in the short term.

Does anyone honestly believe the PRC Chinese even give a moments thought to hygiene? Visit China and see for yourselves.
All they are doing is building in exactly the same way they do in the PRC. The local authorities in Cambodia obviously have no say in what the PRC do or they are on the payroll.
Thank goodness the PRC Chinese have no interest in rural areas where there are no casinos or fight for all you can eat buffets.

A lot of the big cities were built quickly resulting in pollution then they fixed it, Shanghai for example, but not after people got very sick.

I imagine many large cesspits leach out into the shallow aquifer that is normally used as domestic water

Lots of flooding again in SIhanoukville. FB full of swamped cars being pushed by locals (Chinese).
If anything land is going up as usual. My friend (the Belgian one) bought land near Don Bosco for $120 per sq and sold it six months ago at $400 per sq and now it’s $700!
I do only have one friend by the way.
