Fake news
Why burn them, instead of just selling them, to fund more rangers?
For the spectacle, creating the impression of stern action
While real business continues

Maybe they seized more vehicles and sacrificed two to make a good impression ? A bit like the drugs and money.Phnom Poon wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2019 4:50 pm Fake news

To be fair, burning the vehicles also sends a message to those who transport illegal wood. The worth of a vehicle is probably more than the fines, or whatever they would pay police to get them back..

not quite
they're not going to resell illegal drugs, and cash is just paper, if you're the state
perhaps NBC even credit your bank account for the notes burned
illegal loggers get the message pretty quickly when assets are confiscated and they land in jail
the message is for the plebs and internationals

Nothing new or unusual about that.
