The two reports above about pangolins being found wandering around town, or being handed in,
are the best indication yet that the arse has fallen out of the Chinese pangolin market.
fingers crossed

Re: Rare Pangolin Found Roaming in Banlung City Center
About the middle of May a local seafood restaurant reopened after doing renovations and a mate and myself went to try it out as the lock down had finished in this part of Vietnam. I am certain this was not supposed to be seen except by "in the know" locals and visitors from another Asian country. The poor bloody Pangolin just can't take a trick as they are supposedly protected in Vietnam and are listed on the endangered list.
Sorry for the poor quality photo but tried to take it without being seen taking it. And we have never seen this list again so whether it was a mistake and shouldn't have been in there (unlikely) or they are careful about who see's it (most likely) I can't say for certain.

I skewed the picture and cropped it for clarity and changed some lighting but didn't do any other editing. What is that creature they are calling a "salamander"? The picture looks like a Tuatara.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Lol
I reckon the top one is probably a palm civet. ??
I was worried it might be a slow loris at first, but probably not.
The bottom one i thought was one of the rats, but now tending towards one of the squirrels. ??
terrible photos (the originals). you gotta appreciate the animals alive and breathing to take a good wildlife photographs, it seems.

Maybe it just looks a bit fat because it's in mid run? Doesn't look all that tasty either way.SternAAlbifrons wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 12:56 am Lol
