Quarantine on arrival - booking own accomodation

Post by jaggop »

Now, as far as I know it is impossible to book your own hotel, you end up where ever the powers that be decide. As I am currently planning to go back to Cambodia and therefore has read a lot of accounts of this being the case, the following passage in Phnom Penh Post surprised me:

Sounds like you can actually have a choice in where you stay if you book with some partners prior to arrival. Can anyone confirm this? If they can, how do you find out who are the partners?

The hotel where most British arrivals (and maybe all westerners) end up is the Okay Boutique on Street 19z , which has the best food and you can use their pool on the rooftop during your 'stay' there. It is far more pleasant than many of the Chinese operated ones by all accounts. You could contact them directly and find out.

I sure I read a report on here whereby someone was at the airport and found the bus that was going to the Okay Boutique and made sure they got on that bus.

@PSD-Kiwi

You have been back recently, can you manoeuvre your way onto the Okay Boutique bus at the airport or is it still lucky dip?

All the Brits I know that have arrived this year seem to have ended up there.

That would be good if it were the case. I’m hoping to head home soon. It’s utter fucking nonsense here in Europe. At least the nonsense and corruption in Cambodia makes sense!

Last summer you were still able to self quarantine at home after staying two days in a hotel after arrival.
