Re: It's Python Season
Cambodia News (Kampong Chhnang): On April 2, 2021, the forest administrative officer collaborated with the Ministry of the Environment and the Royal Gendarmerie to release 62 pythons into the natural conservation forest in the Kampong Leng district, Kampong Chhnang.

Pythons released back into nature
Phnom Tamao Zoological Park and Wildlife Rescue Center released 85 pythons into the wild in Pursat province’s Phat Sanday Fisheries Conservation Area in Kandeang district on October 14.
The release was made possible by collaboration with Forestry and Fisheries Administrations, the Environment Department, the military and the provincial police.
Provincial Fisheries Administration director Phum Vimol said that that the 85 pythons were collected from Phnom Tamao Zoological Park for release in the Tonle Sap Natural Forest.
He appealed to the people who live in the area to please help protect and preserve all kinds of wildlife.
“Do not catch and do not trade or kill animals and do not encroach on forest land that is home to all kinds of biodiversity,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Wildlife Rapid Rescue team this week rescued over 70 turtles. These included threatened species: Asian leaf turtles (Cyclemys dentata), Southeast Asian box turtle (Cuora amboinensis) and Black marsh turtle (Siebenrockiella crassicollis).
