Public Health Warning: Dumex Baby Formula Products Recalled
August 29, 2018 1:35 pm
Phnom Penh, Cambodia news: In the afternoon of August 29, 2018, the CamControl Department has announced that it has stopped importing and distributing Dumex milk powder products for babies, after Singapore authorities have instructed importers to recall the existing product from the shelves. The advice to consumers is: Do not use this baby formula.
CamControl General Department of Ministry of Commerce would like to inform the public, wholesalers, and retailers, that the Singapore Food and Veterinary Authority has announced the discovery of the Cronobacter sakazakii bacteria in the Dumex Mamil Gold Milk Formula-Step1 baby formula, imported by Danone Dumex. This is CamControl's General Notification.
This bacterial intake of foods causes inflammation of the colon, the intestine, the inflammation of the brain, and so forth. And in infants less than 2 months old the death rate is 10% to 80%, and those with weak immune systems are the most vulnerable.
In order to prevent any accidents that might eventually harm the health, the CamControl General Department would like to appeal to the public not to purchase the products as indicated above and to please help provide information to competent officials in the event that they come across the brand on sale in the shops.

Second or third recall of Dumex (or as Khmer say, Dumek) in the past number of years I've been here.

That’s a very bad news for all those mums who use that kind of infant milk to feed their small kids!CEOCambodiaNews wrote:August 29, 2018 1:35 pm

My close friend work in this Company in Cambodia and she said that it only caused problem in Singapore now!
She even mentioned about different Batch code and tin....,
Maybe it is fake product? Or something wrong with that factory?
Upcoming news will assure more detail!

Almost all the women in province still give breastfeeding to their kids, but most mother in city provide milk power to their kids. It may depends on their lifestyle, situation, time and money to afford them.RogueAnt wrote:I'm not up with this kind of stuff but don't women breast feed anymore? (not judging just asking)
Many women still not know how to store their milk for kid when they are not home!

My wife's tits conked out early and he was a greedy bastard, so that's why we bottle fed. They turn out a bit fatter, he was like a basketball for a bit.
