Deermeat is available in Kratie, Mondulkiri and Ratanakiri restaurants if you know where to go. I don't see the problem with eating wild pig and some species of deer. As usual, the "problem" resides in the local power-sharing - who gets to sell the local wildlife, the trees and so on.

Meat Seized after Wild Chase
About 100 kilograms of pig and dear meat was seized on Wednesday night after police chased down a luxury car in Kratie town’s Orusey commune, deputy chief of the Provincial Economic Police Unit Major Rin Veansa said.

Two suspects, the presumed car owner and driver, escaped arrest by fleeing into a nearby forest.

“The offenders have transported prohibited wildlife meat from provincial protected areas in the night time and attempted to bring it for sale at restaurants in the city,” Major Veansa said.

“Our mixed forces chased them in a car, but the car’s owner and the driver managed to escape,” he added, referring to the Kratie provincial economic police force which worked in collaboration with the provincial forest administration on the seizure...
