State prisoners' in 2018, was 1,351,900.
State deaths' 4,135
Federal prison populations were 151,500 in 2018.
Federal deaths 378 in 2018

Cancer (1,137) and heart disease (1,052) were the leading causes of prisoners’ deaths in 2018.
311 prisoner suicides in 2018
249 deaths were attributed to drug/alcohol intoxication in 2018

Looking for a graph on deaths due to Karma but cannot find one, however I think it may be comparable to previous years.

Could be that the numbers imprisoned is substantially greater than back in 2017
