Police Stop Vehicle Attempting to Smuggle 43 Monkeys Across the Border From Cambodia to Vietnam Illegally

Tbong Khmum: Armed Forces cooperated with Forest Administrative Officers in raiding a car illegally transporting 43 monkeys from Cambodia to Vietnam on April 27, 2016.

The crackdown was taken under Tbong Khmum provincial presiding judge, Hear Sopheak commanding. Major general, Churn Phally, said that after receiving the tip of this illegal operation, Ponhea Kreng district Police Arm Forces, cooperated with Tombe commune Forest Administrative officers to raid this Highlander vehicle.

However, the smugglers escaped the police.

There were 43 monkeys found and they have been given back to the Forest Administrative Department for the wildlife conservation.
