Could logdom be laudanum? Logdom does not appear to be an actual drug.

I thought "Laudanum" disappeared at the advent of the 20th century along with all those crazy Patent Medicines that were full of Opium, Cocaine, & Alcohol. They fixed nothing, but sure made you feel better !

It still exists in the US, is a Schedule II substance and is prescribed all across the country... not like that nasty Schedule I drug, marijuana. Devil weed, stick to some good ol' opium tincture, thank you.wackyjacky wrote:I thought "Laudanum" disappeared at the advent of the 20th century along with all those crazy Patent Medicines that were full of Opium, Cocaine, & Alcohol. US:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laudanum#Modern_statusTincture of Opium is available by prescription in the United States. It is regulated as a Schedule II drug (No. 9639) under the Controlled Substances Act.
In the United States, opium tincture is marketed and distributed by several pharmaceutical firms, each producing a single formulation of the drug, which is deodorized. Each mL contains 10 mg of anhydrous morphine (the equivalent of 100 mg of powdered opium), other opium alkaloids (except noscapine), and ethanol, 19%. It is available prepackaged in bottles of four ounces (118 mL) and 16 ounces (1 pint or 473 mL).
Tincture of Opium is known as one of many "unapproved drugs" regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA); the marketing and distribution of opium tincture prevails today only because opium tincture was sold prior to the Federal Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act of 1938.[21] Its "grandfathered" status protects opium tincture from being required to undergo strict FDA drug reviews and subsequent approval processes. However, the FDA closely monitores the labeling of opium tincture. Bottles of opium tincture are required by the FDA to bear a bright red "POISON" label given the potency of the drug and the potential for overdose (see discussion about confusion with Paregoric below). Despite opium tincture being an "unapproved drug" as discussed above, a search of FDA's website does not reveal any efforts at this time to ban opium tincture or restrict its use; in fact, the FDA has a web page devoted to patient and practitioner education about opium tincture. However, in a warning letter to a manufacturer of opium tincture in late 2009, the FDA noted that "In regard to your unapproved drugs, we found that your firm is manufacturing and distributing the prescription drug Opium Tincture USP (Deodorized—10 mg/mL). Based on our information, there are no FDA-approved applications on file for this drug product." This warning may indicate a shift in FDA policy toward banning opium tincture or at least requiring the product to be brought within the FDA's regulatory framework.[22]

Some medicines you are having might be also fake. What a poor country. No doubt why our life expectancy is so low.prahkeitouj wrote:How many fake boxes are selling ?

I rarely take medicine. It is better to cure our illness by ourselves. I don't want to die soon.Samouth wrote:Some medicines you are having might be also fake. What a poor country. No doubt why our life expectancy is so low.prahkeitouj wrote:How many fake boxes are selling ?

Re: Police found 379 boxes full of fake medicines
I think if you use a chain like U-Care, it is more likely you'll get real medicine. There are so many pharmacies in Phnom Penh, it's really difficult to know anything about the quality unless you already know the pharmacist. But even if you already know the pharmacist, I feel like even completely honest small independent shops are more likely to get tricked into buying this fake medicine than a place like U-Care, which likely has a consistent supply line with reputable companies.Samouth wrote:Some medicines you are having might be also fake.
