Cambodia News, Pursat: According to the police website, a man who was found dead in the water by the villagers is suspected to have died of strong winds. This incident surprised the local authorities who arrived at the scene at 8:05 am on July 10, 2020. The victim's body was found in Koh Puos rice field, located in Koh Svay village, Pursat province.

The victim was Chan Sareth, a 36-year-old male from Koh Svay village, living with his sister, Chan Sarith, 38, also of Koh Svay village, Tbeng Senchey district.

According to the local police, and according to the relatives and villagers, the victim, Chan Sareth Usa, drank large amounts of alcohol regularly, and on the morning of July 10, 2020 he did not eat. At around 6:15 that morning, the sister asked her brother Chan Sarith to come and work as a rice harvester for the villagers. A few hours later, the locals came to tell that the woman that her brother drowned in the rice field while he was working, and she gave the information to the authorities.

Sources said that after inspecting the scene, the police concluded that the death of the victim, Chan Sareth (aka Chet) was caused by "wind" (breathing problems?), and he fell into the water and drowned.
The body was handed over to relatives to take to the traditional ceremony.
