Re: Phnom Penh Bridge Closed After Boat Crash
Cambodia News, Phnom Penh: According to reports, a Vietnamese team of experts was hired to remove the sunken sand barge from the bridge piers for about US$ 50,000, and at noon on 13 December, the experts took a 300-meter-long steel cable attached to the ferry and dragged it slowly toward shore.
This new operation was launched after several attempts to remove the barge from between the piers up were unsuccessful, up until the 10 December, when rescue efforts were temporarily suspended.
