Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. Did they take this pic with a drone? Naughty!
That'd be outside the HE villa exclusion zone, but must be inside the airport exclusion zone

There's one that was first publicized in 2015 after someone flew a drone over the palace. It appears to be centered around Psah Thmei.

It doesn't cover the airport, maybe there's another one for that?

There's a Siem Reap one too:

Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Public Works and Transport has tested locomotives on the new railroad from Phnom Penh Railway Station to the Phnom Penh International Airport. According to the website of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, "On April 1, 2018, at 14 and 45 minutes, the first train has operated on the newly built line to the terminal at Phnom Penh International Airport. "

The railroad crossing along Russian Boulevard is about 1,600 meters long, linking the railway station, Phnom Penh to existing new terminal at Phnom Penh International Airport.
This was a trial run, but the official trains for this new line, imported from Mexico, should be operating shortly.

There is also discussion on the possibility of a baggage check-in at Phnom Penh railway station, which is still in the process of being studied.

Well done. The train service to the airport is up and running, BUT it takes (an estimated time of) 45 minutes from the Phnom Penh train station to the airport, and they are still waiting for the delivery of the Mexican train cars sometime in June. So, presumably no "toilets, automatic doors, WiFi, TVs and 80 kph cruising speed" until they arrive.

Phnom Penh airport train launches as free service until July 31
10 April 2018
An airport train service running from the capital’s train station on Monivong Boulevard to the Phnom Penh International Airport started on Tuesday at a ceremony presided over by Transportation Minister Sun Chanthol.

The ride currently takes about 45 minutes and trains depart at 20-minute intervals, 24 hours a day, Chanthol said.

The trains have different designs and lengths, but each car can hold about 100 people and is equipped with seats and air conditioners.

Hundreds of small homes and shacks line parts of the 10-km track, and while riding the train today, dozens of children could be seen playing several meters from moving trains. There are no barriers or fences around the track.

According to a release from the train’s operator, Royal Railway, new train cars from Mexico are scheduled to arrive in June and will be equipped with toilets, automatic doors, WiFi, TVs and an 80 kph cruising speed, cutting travel time to and from the airport to just 25 minutes.

Think I'll give it a try in May.

In one newspaper account it says it will be "free for citizens" until July 31st.

Is the train station right inside the airport?

Yeah it's inside of the airport area. Across the parking lot, opposite to the terminal.

Do you mean across the road ? If thats the case, it's another 25 minute trip dodging between cars to cross the road.

No need to cross the street. The station is same side as the airport. Like I said, it's inside the airport area. The train does cross the Russian blvd though and I don't know how they have organised that.
