Noisy Drinker Attacked with Swords in Kamboul, Phnom Penh
There was another case of severe violence in Kamboul* district of Phnom Penh in the early hours of this morning, when a man was attacked with swords by angry neighbors.
Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): At 1:30am on December 21, 2020 in Borey MK01, Thkol Village, Koh Sna, Sangkat Sno, Khan Kampol, Phnom Penh, a man, a military police officer, was seriously injured while sitting drinking in front of his relatives' house. He was stabbed several times by the neighbors who then fled to Phnom Penh.
The victim, Tan Sitha, a 41-year-old male police officer, was stitched up by doctors with 30 stitches.
The suspects, whose names are not known, live in the Borey above.
Prior to the incident, the victim and two other relatives, a total of three, were drinking together in front of their house in this Borey until about 12 pm on December 20, 2020. The neighbor from across the street walked over to tell the group that it was late at night and they should stop drinking (and making noise). At that time, the victim replied that because he was visiting his relatives, he would not stop drinking.
Then, at 1:30 am on the same night, the neighbor came back, along with two other accomplices, a total of three suspects, each armed with a sword, and they attacked the man, causing a severe head injury.
The three suspects escaped. The victim was seriously wounded and taken to a private hospital to be stitched up, but his life is not in danger.
