Sihanoukville; LV Nightclub catches fire and singer Bou Seyha fights for life
SIHANOUKVILLE - Last night, 21 February 2018, the well known LV nightclub in Sihanoukville caught fire close to midnight. For the moment, officials say that the fire was probably caused by an electrical fault in the music sound system on stage.
Singer, Bou Seyha was caught directly in the outbreak of the fire.
According to the police, Bou Seyha, a 32-year-old singer, was subjected to life-threatening burns, and was immediately hospitalized in a grave condition. He was sent to a rescue hospital in Phnom Penh and later transferred to a Vietnamese hospital to save his life.

We were there two weeks ago- we hadn’t been for months and decided to go for a dance. We went back the next night as well, it was great.
So sad to hear about the MC, he has a stunning voice and seems like a really nice guy, very popular with patrons.

Singer critically injured in Sihanoukville nightclub fire
22 February 2018
Fire tore through a popular Sihanoukville nightclub at around midnight last night, severely injuring a male singer, a fire official confirmed today.
The fire at LV Disco, which burned until about 1:30 a.m., caused life-threatening burns to 33-year-old Bou Seyha, said Buor Sothy, deputy chief of the Preah Sihanouk fire department.
“Many witnesses that went to the night club claimed that before the fire started, they heard an explosion of [the electrical rig] right over the band stage and then the fire started and [the rig] fell onto the band stage,” Sothy said. “Almost all of the stuffs in the club were burned.”
While authorities initially concluded the fire was caused by an electrical malfunction, Sothy said a committee would conduct an investigation on the cause.
The victim, Seyha, was first sent to a local referral hospital, but his family had him transferred at 4:30 a.m. to Cho Ray general hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, due to the severity of the burns.

No windows or emergency exits... Shoddy wiring... These places are deaths traps and I'm constantly surprised how relatively few of these accidents happen. Then again, there were two near my place last month alone.
