3 Nigerians & 2 Cambodians In Court Over Drug Charges (Caught With 1 Kilo of Meth Back in May)

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

CAMBODIA NEWS: On 11 August 2017, three Nigerians and two Cambodians accused of selling drugs were put on trial in Phnom Penh court. They were caught selling more than one kilogram of methamphetamines/ice.

The defendants are:

Innocent Onwumere Okafor—a 44 year-old African

Eric Chenodu Ankker—a 24 year-old African

Moser Chego Enbechi—a 32 year-old African

Chan Rathana (known as "Miss Gold")—a 24 year-old Cambodian

Pun Rayuth—a 19 year-old Cambodian

They were arrested on 13 May 2016 while trading 1098.11 grams of meth in Thnout Chrum Village, Tom Pun Commune, Mean Chey District.

The judge found Chan Rathana and his cousin, Pun Rayuth guilty of working for the African drug dealers. Rathana confessed that they had committed this crime twice before and earned 200 USD on each occasion. In spite of the confession made by the Cambodian defendants, the African men denied all the accusations against them, but they could not prove that they were innocent. On the contrary, the police reported that the drugs contained 32.79 percent of meth.

The trial continues and the final verdict will be announced on 7 September 2017.

Finest Nigerian quality. Whomever is making it needs to up their game. It's all down to how good you are at extracting it, the rest will be precursers, bulking agents, depends on the source product.

Indeed. They are all calling themselves "Innocent" according to this report from the trial:

15 August 2017
- During the trial, the two Cambodian men admitted to their mistakes. However, they both said the drugs seized belonged to the three accused Nigerian men.
They admitted that on the day of the raid, they had come to purchase crystal meth from the three accused Nigerian men in order to sell it to an unidentified buyer.
They requested the court reduce their sentences.

The three Nigerian men denied the allegations. They said they were not drug traffickers and they did not recognise the drugs seized from their property.
The men claim the drugs were planted by the police in order to arrest them...

7 September 2017
The five defendants awaiting sentencing were arrested on May 13, 2016, in the Tum Pun Chum commune, Sangkat Boeung Kute, Khan Meanchey, while they were taking drugs. More than 1 kilogram of methamphetamine was seized by police.

Verdict today. Stiff sentences for all five accused: The 3 Nigerians were sentenced to life imprisonment and the 2 Cambodians to 30 years each. The Nigerians were extremely upset at the verdict, throwing themselves on the floor, shouting and wailing.
