They certainly do. I know perfectly respectable Nigerians (and have done all my life) and even they easily acknowledge that Nigerians have a bad reputation. Of course there are gangsters from other African nations here, but Nigeria is populous and well represented in the prisons of SE Asia.

A reputation is an ‘opinion’ one has about someone. You are white and racist so your opinion of Nigerians is racist. What your supposed Nigerian friend said is irrelevant because he is not here. Who says Nigerians have a bad reputation, white people do. I never said Nigerians have a bad rep because I don’t see them in a negative light. That's because Nigerians like you think it is perfectly OK to flood the world with scams and drugs and "black dollars". My gmail's spam folder is constantly full of emails from 419 advanced fee scammers offering "business" proposals and dodgy deals.

You also seem to live in a denial mode, stubbornly ignoring the fact that the preponderance of Nigerians in prisons here and beyond is a well-established notoriety they are associated with. They simply are criminally predisposed. Just go to Nairaland's travel forums and read how they all want to "hustle" some mugus and magas. Observe how other commenting members on that forum find it perfectly normal to offer advice about "hustling" and even discuss country-by-country opportunities (i.e. where best to steal/scam/con or find mules).

I am Asian and I am ALWAYS on alert mode when approached by someone from Nigeria. It's just the reality of things. I don't want to spend decades in Prey Sar for making the mistake of a lifetime.

When I see a Nigerian on a Harley or a Benz, my first thought is guess how it was paid for.

It doesn't matter if they are guilty, or even just guilty of being black. Systemic racism, bias racism or what have you. I am hated every where I go just because of the color of my skin. I do realize that I am the only black person here defending Nigerians because I myself, my family see hate in our lives everyday and it really is a shame because looking through white eyes, it very easy to point the finger and say, Nigerians this and Nigerians that.

I can never expected to be a majority here. Just look around you. How many black people do you see speaking up about injustice?

Black is dirty. We are evil, criminals. Black is bad. Just like the Asian guy said. Hey Asian guy, I know you probably won't read through 37 pages, but if you did. Tell me again about the preponderance of black people incarcerated. Tell me again how bad we are, maybe if I read the response enough times from the people here, I may just start to believe it.

You might have some points. However it is Nigerians we were discussing, and who have this bad reputation here. I have never heard of an African American trafficking narcotics here.

My point is black is black. Nigerian, American, Brasilian, the hate is towards black, period. Nigerians don't have a bad reputation here. It's the racist Asian and white people who have a racist attitude towards black skin, they are the ones with the bad reputation. It's only Asians and whites who say Nigerians are bad. Just listen to the over 60 Asian guy who said "They simply are criminally predisposed.", or "I am Asian and I am ALWAYS on alert mode when approached by someone from Nigeria.", or "When I see a Nigerian on a Harley or a Benz, my first thought is guess how it was paid for."

So now I am supposed to ID myself as American so I am not lumped in with all the racists who are afraid to admit that they are racist.

I find dark skinned girls attractive does that make me racist, even if it does it wouldn't stop me.
