Phnom Pehn: Immigration police have detained a Nigerian man and 9 Vietnamese on suspicion of working and living illegally in Cambodia.
An unidentified Nigerian man was apprehended by police on Thursday, 4 January 2018 in Phnom Penh for having no passport, and he has been taken to the Department of Immigration for his case to be processed.
At 9:30 AM, on Friday, 5 January 2018, it was the turn of 9 Vietnamese (5 men and 4 girls) ,also without passports, to be taken into custody by the Phnom Penh immigration authorities.
As a result, all 10 illegal immigrants have been detained and transferred to the General Department of Immigration to carry out the legal proceedings before being deported from Cambodia.
