Newbie thief crashes trying to steal foreign woman's bag outside Aeon Mall

Phnom Penh: On April 01, a 19 year old thief, Ny Tola, was arrested for trying to steal a bag from a foreign woman in front of Aeon Mall in Khan Chamkarmorn, Phnom Penh.
The victim was leaving the mall when the suspect drove by on his motorcycle and snatched the woman' s bag out of her hands. But then, unfortunately for the thief, he drove straight into the motorbike park fence and fell off his bike. He was immediately set upon by a large crowd who had seen him snatch the bag.
Then in a sudden twist to events, another man, 28 year old Dum Norrak, said he was a police spy in an attempt to stop people from beating up the bag-snatcher. The crowd did not believe him and took him along to the police station with the thief where he was charged with being an accomplice.
The foreign lady retrieved her bag and the suspects were taken to Tonle Bassac police post.
