We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. Cambodia-China Friendship Thbong Khmum Hospital in Thbong Khmum provincial city, built under a grant aid from China, was put into official use this morning.

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HE and Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Wang Wentian presided over the inauguration ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, the Cambodian Premier said that the newly-built hospital is another precious achievement resulted from the iron-clad friendship and the comprehensive strategic partnership between Cambodia and China.

Samdech Techo HE took the opportunity to thank the Chinese government and people for their humanitarian assistance to improve the well-being in Cambodia.

According to H.E. Prof. Mam Bunheng, Minister of Health, the Cambodia-China Friendship Thbong Khmum Hospital was constructed from February 2019 to November 2021 with a total cost of US$45 million.

This is the second big project funded by a grant aid of China. The first one is Cambodia-China Friendship Preah Kossamak in Phnom Penh capital which will be inaugurated in the near future, he said.

The Cambodia-China Friendship Thbong Khmum Hospital will become a regional hospital covering the provinces of Kratie, Rattanakiri, Stung Treng, and Mondulkiri, continued H.E. Minister.

Can anyone make this more clear to understand! funded by a grant aid. What does that mean, aid, is usually something given in most cases, although a grant is something that is usually to be paid back to the lender. Also sometimes there are certain guidelines laid out, this may be worded in such a way that it seems like the outside country is usually helping that of the other countries, but the truth is that the country being helped must not fault on the agreement's. Also, it seems that the two countries will jointly running the new government Chinese/Cambodian hospital's. Again with the wording that the hospital would have new equipment and Chinese doctors would train Cambodian people.

Aid isn't usually a gift, it's nearly always in the form of loans.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
