sensible gun laws supported by the vast majority
stewarding the planet that supports us
the separation of powers
checks and balances to protect the citizens and institutions from mad leaders
good governance generally

Yep.
There was a really good discussion here earlier as to what one would do in similar circumstances..
However, when it drifted onto US gun control and left/right and whatever, I'm sure there are other existing threads for that.

Ok, was the naval officer the right wing capitalist here, and the Chinese burglars are the left, because they are from the communist PRC? Or is there something I'm missing?
Silence, exile, and cunning.

The second burglar has also died.

Not sure. The burglars are the capitalists I think, accumulating other people's wealth without working.John Bingham wrote: ↑Wed Dec 25, 2019 3:25 pm Ok, was the naval officer the right wing capitalist here, and the Chinese burglars are the left, because they are from the communist PRC? more like carpet bombing what so many posters proudly stand against.
I have to wonder what the naval officer had in his safe that 2 men would spend so much time to saw their way into the house to get, how they were able to saw quietly enough as to not attract attention and then break open the safe again quietly. A Cambodian Dr makes a median salary of $14,00 a year. Pocket money to a Chinese Range Rover driving KTV / Casino enthusiast. Wouldn t it be easier and safer to mug a Chinese drunk before he gets into his Porsche Cayanne and hits a tuktuk?

Re: Navy Officer Kills Chinese Man During Burglary
When I was young we had a (licensed) 12 bore shotgun that was kept, unloaded, under my parents bed. If anyone came onto the property that was what I went for. I didn't care that I was too young to legally use a firearm. I would have shot any fucker who came in. I fired off plenty of warning shots. Good citizens are murdered in their homes and you aren't allowed to hit back? That's messed up.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

It doesn’t matter if the person is a police officer, SEAL on leave or whatever ‘trained’ person. Break into someone’s house at 12am, attack them and then expect them to use whatever force necessary to stop the attack.
And then the judge decides whether the force used was appropriate and necessary...
Let's just hope the judge isn't some leftish snowflake.
