Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. Tbong Khmum Province: The prison warden of Correctional Centre Number 3 Trapieng Tlong in Trapieng Tlong Commune, Bana Kraek district caught a woman called Khin Sang, aged 46, who lives in Dom Kvaet village, Veal Poan Commune, T’poung District, Kompong Speu province at 11:30am, February 9th 2015 after she tried to smuggle narcotic drugs inside beef soup to give to her husband, a convict who was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for murder.

Major Jear Jewern, the chief of the anti-narcotics police for the province informed that since the implementation of the new rules and regulations at the prison all relatives visiting prisoners must have the family book with them and following authorization and inspection they can enter.
He continued; on the 9th of February a woman called Khin Sang brought many food ingredients to bring to her convicted husband, Vuthy, whom she claimed was her husband. In accordance with the pre-entry rules she had to undergo the inspection from the guards. They discovered, concealed in beef soup, 28 ‘WY’ tablets, 8 packets of white narcotic powder and 2 plastic drinking straws stuffed with narcotics that were embedded inside beef bones in the soup. If you just looked briefly you wouldn’t be able to notice. She followed scientific procedure and nearly did a very good job.
