This is exactly why people shouldn't go in to land business without proper fire power.

UPDATE
A woman has been arrested for the murder of the Mondulkiri couple. It seems there was a feud between the two families over land ownership. The day of the murders, the couple were having a party, then when the guests had departed, the neighbor woman came over and shot them both. She then ran away.

The couple leave three small children as orphans: the eldest son 7 years, the second daughter 5 years and the third girl 4 years. Heart-breaking.

Woman in custody for shooting couple dead, police seeking husband
09 September 2019 | 23:16 ICT
Mondulkiri provincial police will send a 47-year-old woman to court on Tuesday and are on a manhunt for her husband after a couple was shot dead in Rovak village, in Koh Nhek district’s Royor commune on Saturday.

Sophea said a witness had reported that the two families lived opposite each other and often argued about a land dispute.

The witness said that on Saturday, the victims’ family was singing karaoke and the suspects became angry at the noise.

An argument erupted, the witness told the police, which became increasingly hostile until the gunshots were heard.

Police said the bullets found at the scene were real, not home-made.

“We haven’t found the weapon yet because the female suspect has refused to reveal its location. But she claimed that it was she who shot the victims, not her husband,” Sophea said.

He said the suspects are farmers, but villagers had told the police that the male suspect had told some people that he used to be a Khmer Rouge soldier.

UPDATE: The killer of the Mondulkiri couple has been found working on a building site in Bavet, Svay Rieng.

October 9, 2019
Man suspected of killing two farmers over land dispute

Police in Svay Rieng province yesterday arrested a man suspected of killing two farmers over a land dispute in Mondulkiri province last month.

The killings took place at about 7.30pm on September 7 at the victim’s home in O’Koki village in Mondulkiri’s Koh Nhek district. The victims were 37-year-old Sok Ra and his wife 34-year-old An Ol.

Brigadier General On Bunnyrith, deputy chief of provincial police, said 49-year-old Sok Chamroeun, the suspect, was arrested on Monday at a construction site in Svay Rieng’s Bavet city, near the Cambodian-Vietnamese border.

“We suspect he killed the victims in Mondulkiri province and fled to Bavet city to hide and work at the construction site,” Brig Gen Bunnyrith said. “He was arrested on Monday after [Svay Rieng police] saw him working.”

Colonel Kloth Sophea, chief of Koh Nhek district police in Mondulkiri, said Mr Chamroeun’s wife, 47-year-old Yeay An, who is also a suspect, was previously arrested for being linked to the crime.

Col Sophea said that the suspects and victims had a long-standing dispute over land in the commune, noting that they were all neighbours in the village. He said that on September 7, the victims were hosting a party that disturbed the suspects.

Col Sophea said the suspects approached the victims and began arguing over the loud noise, but the argument escalated and the two sides began fighting over the land.

“During the argument, Mr Chamroeun took an AK-47 rifle from his house and fired a bullet at Mr Ra, hitting him in the left rib cage. He died at the scene of the crime,” he said. “After shooting Mr Ra, Mr Chamroeun shot two bullets at Ms Ol. One bullet hit her hip and another hit her chest. She died on the way to the provincial referral hospital.”
