Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. It was reported that he stole those couple of kilos from a huge (120kg) bust last week.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

That's what they say here. In which case the drug is methamphetamine and not ketamine, as stated here.

The Anti-Drug Police Force of the Provincial Police Commission arrested the Deputy Commander of Borey O'Svay Sen Chey District on October 30, 2020 after research and investigation. The operation to arrest the above military officer was carried out at the Mlup Tnout restaurant in the village at Stone Bridge, Sangkat Stung Treng, Stung Treng City.

Exhibits include 2 large packets of KETAMINE [sic], total weight 2002.1 grams, as well as seized items including 1 car, 1 mobile phone, 1 AK47 rifle, 1 rifle and other items

The suspect is Ouk Damkeang, a 44-year-old male military officer with the title of Chief Deputy Commander of Borey O Svay Sen Chey District, currently residing in Samrong Village, Sre Sambo Commune, Siem Pang District, Stung Treng Province.

It should be noted that on October 23, 2020, military forces stationed along the border found two large bags of drugs when a man abandoned his motorcycle after being stopped by Cambodian officers. It was not until a week later that the specialized forces realized that some of the merchandise was missing.

The suspect is currently being detained by law enforcement officers of the Anti-Drug Bureau.

If they ever had training from some of Australia's state police forces /drug squads of not too long ago,
they are probably adhering to strict protocols for divvying up the loot.

The iron rule of law in New South Wales used to be
- If you ain't at the divvie, Tough.
except the head of the squad who picked up the set % for the higher ups.

The divvie-up was very soon after the bust.
That had the side benefit of making sure all the squad members were on deck for the raiding party - with their balls on.
LOL
but of course that is all in past nowadays

I suppose it's very tempting to take a little of the merchandise, knowing of its street value. But doubly wrong for someone in his position.
Always "hope" but never "expect".
