Mercedes Full Of Illegal Logs Hits a Stop Sign in Phnom Penh
Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: An unusual event occurred at 9:30 am Tuesday, January 1, 2019, along the road No. 80, on Preah Sisowath Quay, Daun Penh district, when a Mercedes-Benz minivan crashed into a traffic sign. Traffic police, who came to investigate the crash, were surprised to find that the van was loaded full of luxury wood.
For some unknown reason, the driver of the van steered into a Stop sign, demolishing the sign and damaging his vehicle.
The van was impounded and transported to the traffic police department in Boeung Trabek commune, Chamkarmon district.
The competent authorities of the Traffic Police Office of the Police Office of Phnom Penh Capital Hall are now waiting for legal action to be taken against the owner of the Mercedes.

Haha. If that’s a Mercedes my aunt is the pope!
It may have a very old design MB engine and a logo but it’s far from German!

Yes the same way that Wins and Daelims are not Honda’s and the Hindustan Ambassador isn’t a Morris Oxford!
Re: Mercedes Full Of Illegal Logs Hits a Stop Sign in Phnom Penh

Re: Mercedes Full Of Illegal Logs Hits a Stop Sign in Phnom Penh
Rosewood can go for $10,000+ a cubic meter within Cambodia, but I'm not sure what kind of wood that is in the vehicle.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
Re: Mercedes Full Of Illegal Logs Hits a Stop Sign in Phnom Penh
Let's look at the volume/density here.
Rosewood has a density of 30kg per cubic foot which equates to just over a metric tonne per m3. So, how many m3 load capacity does a SSangYong van have? At a guess, I would think the cubic load capacity to be around 6m3( 2.5m x 1.7m x 1.5m.) If it is rosewood, the load would weigh around 6 tonne. While it does seem near impossible to carry 6 tonne in a van that size, we are talking Cambodia, where the concept of physics is largely unknown.
So let's say the timber is not rosewood and the load is less dense, weighing in at 2.5 tonne. This weight would be max for that van and the pic of the rear wheels show that it is barely coping. It is inevitable that the stopping time is greatly increased, hence colliding with the stop sign.

Bunch of fucks yes, creepy? Doesn’t fit really.
Sadly the wood will be “confiscated” and sold on. What else would they do with it, burn it?
Creepy fucks.
