Or maybe there were just too many eye witnesses to run?
Or maybe there were just too many eye witnesses to run?
It's a sad commentary on society when someone NOT committing a hit and run is newsworthy. Still, it is good to see someone "man up" and face the consequences, knowing that real justice is a rare commodity in the world.

In a novel turn of events, a truck driver did not flee the scene when he was involved in an accident on Tuesday.
Police said the man was driving a truck loaded with garment workers when a 34-year-old man on a motorbike to his right turned left in front of him in Phnom Penh’s Dangkor district.
Waiting for authorities paid off in this instance as police determined that the accident – which left the biker unconscious and with a broken leg – had been caused by the motorbike driver’s carelessness. NOKORWAT

What's even sadder is that I'd be willing to bet my left testicle that thenonly reason he didn't flee was because his 2.5 ton truck was heavily loaded with garment factory workers (all witnesses that could have ratted him out). Still, good that he stopped I guess. I ways tell khmers it's one of the most disgusting/cowardly things they do in foreigner's eyes, but theybways perhaps rightly answer that people flee because they fear for their own life (mobs being quick to gather).

I always thought they ran because they couldn't afford the compensation.
Most of them have absolutely no insurance, 3rd party cover and if they stop their bosses have to pay, iow, end of job.

The advice i was given for here was to run, then hire a "lawyer" to come forward for you because he'll be able to sort out the police better.
