A Man In a 570 Lexus Shot a Scavenger For Blocking His Way

Phnom Penh: According to Koh Santepheap Daily News, a Cambodian scavenger was shot by a man in 570 Lexus and was left seriously injured by the roadside. He was shot around 1:36 AM on 15 December 2015 on street 105 corner of 432 in Toul Tompong I commune, Chamkarmon district.

The victim named Van Sophea, 36 years old, scavenger and his wife named Sok Pean, 34 years old.

According to witnesses, before the shooting happened, there was a man searching and picking up plastic bottles and empty cans along street 105 and while he was picking it up, there was a Lexus 570 on the way in the direction from North to South. Then, when the car reached where the man was picking the empty cans and other stuff, the man in the car took his gun and started firing the gun at the man which left him seriously injured by the side of the road and the man drove off. He was mad with the victim for putting stuff on the road to block his way or make the space of the road smaller which made it hard for him to drive by. Later the victim was brought to Khmer-Soviet hospital for emergency assistance.
