KANDAL - In a shocking case of domestic violence, at 20:30 on 15 July 2018 , a woman was found dead in a pool of blood in her rented home at Ang Poub village, Krang Mok Kak commune, Ang Snoul district. Kandal Province.

She had been hacked five times in the head with a large knife or axe while lying in her bed.

The victim and her husband were known to quarrel frequently, and the husband has been arrested for murder with premeditation. He has confessed that he killed his wife while she was sleeping, because they had been fighting, and he was angry with her. The woman was a 33 year old factory worker, and she leaves behind three young children.

Battambang: Another man was arrested in Battambang today, in another case involving domestic violence, which occurred in Prey Tea Village, Sangkat Cham Chao 3, Khan Porsenchey, Phnom Penh on July 8th.

After 11 days on the run, 28-year-old Hor Rithy, a construction worker, was discovered hiding in Battambang. He was taken into custody by police and charged with attacking his wife on the head with a knife.

Jealous husband admits killing wife

Construction worker Norn Nath was charged by the provincial court with premeditated murder and faces a life sentence if convicted.
He was arrested on Monday after he killed his garment worker wife Chhith Mach, 36. Investigating Judge Kim Ratnaridh said Mr Nath had been sent to prison pending his trial.

Ang Snuol district police officer Captain Kong Sopheap said Mr Nath had a big argument with his wife on the night of her death. Mr Nath accused her of having an affair with a man who worked with her at the garment factory.

During the argument, he beat his wife, who then decided to divorce him.
“The accused was angry at the wife over divorcing him,” Mr Sopheap said. “He then killed her by chopping her neck five times with a big axe. After killing her, he fled from the house.”
