A man hacked his wife, mother in law and two kids to death

Kampong cham: According to Kampuchea Thmey Daily News, after hacking his father in law and left him seriously injured, he continued to hack his wife, mother in law and two kids which left them dead immediately at the scene.

This cruel attack happened on 30 November 2015 around 11:09 pm at Peng Meas Cheng village, Speu commune, Chamkarle district, Kampong Cham province.

According to source, the husband named Ang Thy, 47 years old, originally from Takeo province. Before the incident happened, the man came home while he was really drunk then he had an augment with his wife. So she ran way with her kids to her parents’ house nearby. Then, the husband started burning his clothes inside the house. Having seen this, his father in law came in and put on the fire, which made him mad. So he hacked his father which made him to fall down unconsciously and then he went to his parents in law house to hack his wife, mother in law and two kids to death and fled the house afterward.

According to Koh Santepheap Daily News, the man who killed four of his family member just killed himself by running into a car. He was run over by car and had his head crashed into pieces and died immediately at the scene. The suicide happened around 9:00 pm on 1 December 2015 in Veal Thom village, Korkie Thom commune, Baray district, Kampong Thom province about 5 km from kampongcham province.

Kampong Cham man accused of murdering family

A manhunt is under way for a suspect accused of brutally hacking to death his wife, two young children and mother-in-law and badly injuring his father-in-law in what appeared to be a drunken rage on Monday night in Kampong Cham.

Heang Meng, police chief of Speu commune, in Chamkar Leu district, said yesterday that suspect Eng Thy, 47, used a scythe to kill his 45-year-old wife, Chanthy Sopheany, daughter Thy Seanghy, 6, son Thy Seyha, 4, and mother-in-law Mao Yeang, 64.

His father-in-law, Svay Sakhorn, 69, an opposition commune councillor, was sent to Phnom Penh to be treated for serious injuries sustained in the attack.

At press time, Sakhorn was still clinging to life at Phnom Penh’s Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital, according to a hospital official.

“The suspect does not like to talk a lot with other people, and he seemed gentle, but he often made problems in the family and argued with his wife. He has never had a problem or argument with the neighbours or other people,” Meng said.
