Man attacked by a mob

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

In typical Khmer "take ownership" style, it's now being put around that the mob are actually Philippine, not Cambodian at all.

So no-one puts the blame on the Vietnamese any more.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

That barang was far too lenient. I would have got involved a lot sooner if someone was pushing my Mrs around
if she is just a 30$ whore, i dont see the point, also maybe this girl is the type that causes trouble all the time, :D :D :D this guy seems tired

I thought the topic said it was his girlfriend.

If a rent-a-lay had started causing this trouble I would have just walked away and left her to it.

Saying that, khmer ladies can be particularly fighty about this type of thing (I know my ex was) and it’s a bit hard to just walk away when your lady won’t give it a rest and let it go. So I guess the barang has to get involved sooner or later.

I've just been told by my Mrs that a local news company posted some information about this on Facebook. The Khmer guy is the girls husband who is a drunk, she got fed up with him and met that white guy. Khmer guy saw them together which started the fight.

[FBvideo]]
My wife tells me, the unsuspecting foreigner is being attacked by his girl friends drunken husband, which could explain why his mates joined in for good measure. Unfortunate for the youg white lad. Who stood his ground well and managed to just get a few clips. This could very easily been much worse if he had not shown self control. The nigerians filming also helped the situation by standing up and saying NO! A lot of people will say nothing and not get involved.

I have been warned by other expats many times not to get involved, but I do anyway if the circumstance dictate intervention is required to end a serious situation. What I have seen, as shown in this video, if the barang does not get in with a good hit straight up, surrounding Cambo guys jump in with their cheap shots. What I have seen and also my own experience personally, is if you drop a Cambo guy quickly and look around at the crowd with a "who's next" attitude, no second triers come forward.
Problem is, a few of those aggro Cambo guys carry knives.
