Update: The three year sentences were reduced to 18 months.
Trio jailed over mob beating of professor
November 5, 2018
Phnom Penh Municipal Court on Friday sentenced three men to three years in jail for beating a professor after he struck motorists in the city with his SUV in March.

However, Presiding Judge Leang Samnath suspended half of the sentence for the three men, leaving them with about one year left in jail after accounting for time served in pre-trial detention.

The judge also ordered An Phally, 34, An Vintheany, 21, and Yath Tithya, 21, to jointly pay about $125,000 in compensation to Suy Sareth, a University of Cambodia professor who suffered serious injuries after he was beaten by several motorists after the accident. ... professor/
