Mam-alian Protuberances Got the US Embassy's Attention

Seems like the US embassy and state department had the heads up on SM since 2006, but decided it was better to remain quiet, even to the point of letting UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon repeat the false claim of her daughter being kidnapped at an April 2012 General Assembly meeting.!!!
Seems that it also fit their own agenda too well (think funding) to disclose the truth about the organisation.
Also, sources in the anti-trafficking community in Phnom Penh are quoted as saying that Mam was “rotten to the core” and that she was “holding [the NGOs’ national coordinator] hostage”

The US State dept.'s excuse? They reportedly feared that “donors would [not] be able to separate Somaly Mam from the anti-[trafficking] organisations in Cambodia ‘that are actually doing good’”.!!! (probably found it hard to find an NGO that was doing any real good bigger than 5 people and therefore not attracting enough money for their own agenda )

Wish Id never pulled my head out of the sand. Education makes one miserable.
