Male Cambodian Labourer Walking Around Poipet Butt Naked

A decent Cambodian laborer who just returned from Thailand had walked naked along national road number 5, in PoiPet city on Valentine’s Day
So far, the address of the laborer is still unknown; however he has a pink card with him which demonstrated that he is a laborer in Thailand. His name is Leang Lout, 20 years old roughly.

Source from the villagers, He just came back from Thailand today and they didn’t know if he had the same problem in Thailand, as when he just arrived PoiPet. He stripped off himself and walked naked.

It’s believed that he was under the influence of drug. Before he stripped off himself, he was seen fully clothed and giving alms to the monk.

Seeing that example from a local, I get the impression it is acceptable and encouraged to walk naked around Cambodia. I will now consider copying this behavior of the locals when I next visit.

i think they have no choice. They need to go out and leave the country to earn money to support themselves and their needy families. When it comes to talk about the lack of employments in the country, i am really mad with our government who is doing nothing for the whole nation, beside making themselves millionaire and billionaire. note, you are paying salary tax every month, but you won't get anything from the government. This is really f**k up.

Do you actually have to pay? Do they take it straight from you or are you responsible for giving it to someone?

I do actually have to pay. it said it requires by law. The government said they will use this money for the civil servant's salary such as teacher, health worker, police and solider, moreover they will use that money to upgrade and build more infrastructure in Cambodia. However all the new infrastructures they we have recently were built by using all the money that we borrowed from China and some were aided by Japan.

You're right to question government corruption. However, many Cambodians seem to think it's somehow the government's responsibility to provide jobs and a good salary. It's not that simple...
