Machete Madman in Love Triangle Slaying

Trouble flared in Svay Rieng in a young love triangle affair, which culminated in a vicious hacking.

The victim, Vail Visal, an 18-year-old Cambodian, unfortunately died on the way to the hospital.

Police initially caught the getaway bike rider Eng Vija Aura (Age 16), who confessed and led police to the suspected murderer Prak Sothearoth (Age 16).

In turn this led to a third man, Sok Tith Veasna, who assisted the suspect by loaning the knife and then keeping it after the event.

Apparently the victim had spoken badly about the suspect and the unnamed lady.

According to the police that was the reason given.

I am sometimes wary of talking to ladies in beer gardens - just because of this type of thing.

One teacher I knew from the US got stabbed and narrowly escaped death while talking to a young lady in Takhao.
