Lexus Sinks Ferry Boat

Prey Veng, Cambodia News: On 5 September 2018, a Lexus drove into the river when trying to board a small ferry boat which promptly sank, at Prasat Lech village, Pearang district, Prey Veng.

The car driver, who was identified as 31-year-old Seiv Naren, was unharmed. The police and the local people helped to take the car out of the water.

Is it that Lexus always get into trouble in Cambodia or is it that people are picking on Lexus?

Lexus is a Cambodian power symbol. They "get into trouble" (ie make the news) a lot because there are a lot of them.

The wannabe rich crowd can't afford VW/Merc/BMWs.

They have to buy Lexus and watch-shakers and gold-plated pineapples.
